Counselling FAQ

What is the cost of a session?

Each session costs £60, and I want to ensure you understand the counselling cost before we begin. To maintain confidentiality in counselling, we will have a phone call to discuss your needs and confirm whether you'd like to book your first session. I do offer concessions for students and provide various payment methods to make it easier for you. Please note that this phone call, which lasts up to 30 minutes, is free of charge. Additionally, I have a missed session policy in place to address any cancellations.

How long does each session last?

Each session lasts for 50 minutes, ensuring that we maintain confidentiality in counselling. It's important to note the counselling cost associated with your sessions and our missed session policy. We also offer various payment methods to accommodate your needs.

How do I pay?

At the end of each session, you can settle the counselling cost using various payment methods such as bank transfer, cash, or cheque. My bank details, which are important for ensuring confidentiality in counselling, will be included in the contract you sign during the first session. Please also be aware of our missed session policy, as it may affect the session duration.

How many sessions would I need?

The number of sessions you might choose to have depends on how well you feel we are working together and how many you want to have. It's important to consider the counselling cost and the session duration when making your decision. You can stop at any time, but I do ask for at least 48 hours notice in line with our missed session policy. Additionally, we can discuss various payment methods that suit you.

What if I miss a session?

To cover the counselling cost associated with room hire, our missed session policy states that sessions are charged at £15 if 48 hours notice is given. If no notice is provided, the session will be charged at the full rate. We also want to ensure confidentiality in counselling, and we offer various payment methods to streamline the process. Please note that the session duration is important for maintaining the quality of our services.

What can I talk about?

You can talk about anything that may be troubling you. During the first session, I will explain the confidentiality in counselling and how it works in terms of safeguarding and legal aspects. Additionally, I will address the counselling cost, missed session policy, payment methods, and session duration. I welcome any questions or concerns that you may have about this.

Who do you work with?

In my private practice, I work with individuals aged 16 and above, regardless of gender, culture, background, sexuality, or faith. I prioritize confidentiality in counselling to ensure a safe environment for all clients. I also provide clear information about counselling cost, missed session policy, and available payment methods to facilitate a smooth process. Each session duration is tailored to meet the unique needs of my clients.

Are you insured?

Yes, I have full public liability insurance, which is important for maintaining confidentiality in counselling. Additionally, I ensure my clients are informed about counselling costs, my missed session policy, and the various payment methods available to make the process smooth. Each session lasts a specified duration to provide effective support.

What if something goes wrong?

As a member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists), I adhere to their ethical framework, which emphasizes the importance of confidentiality in counselling. I also provide clear information regarding counselling costs, a missed session policy, and various payment methods, ensuring transparency about session duration for all clients.
